My hubby and I ate these mushrooms at a tavern on Crete and we were instantly amazed. They are so incredibly delicious!!! The best is dipping your bread in the sauce. Luckily one of the waitresses revealed the secret!
- 250g champignons
- ca. 200ml wine (I use sweet rosé wine)
- 1-2 tbsp oregano
- 1 big onion
- salt, pepper
Peel and chop the onions into small cubes, then them in oil until glazed. Cut the mushrooms into quaters and add them to the pan. Cook them until brown (not burned!).
Cover the mushrooms with wine, add oregano and season them with salt and bepper, then let all cook until the wine boils down. But caution, you still want to have some sauce in there!
