© ISABEL FORESTER – cumin soup

Since there is really not much in it, my dad used to call this soup “poor people food”, but don’t be fooled! This soup doesn’t seem like much, but at home we love it. Serve some homemade croûtons to it and you’re good.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tbsp whole cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • oil
  • 2 L water

Step 1:

Heat oil up in a soup bowl, add the cumin seeds and roast them until they burst. Stir the flour in and roast the mix until golden.

Step 2:

Pour the water over it and let it boil for 10 min. After that let all the eggs “drop” in the soup, bit by bit. You want to have some smaller egg pieces swimming in it. Cook 15 more minutes.
